BioBidet fit guide

Diagram of three toilet measurements: A, bolt holes to the front of the rim; B, bolt hole spacing; C, bolt hole centre straight back to the tank

BioBidet gives these fit numbers for its bidet seats and attachments:

  • A. Bowl length: about 16-1/2 in means a round bowl, about 18-1/2 in means an elongated bowl. Choose the seat shape that matches.
  • B. Bolt spacing: under 5.5 in or over 7.5 in will likely not fit.
  • C. Bolt holes to tank: at least 1.5 in.
  • Toilet type: fits almost all one-piece and two-piece toilets. Deep French curve toilets do not fit well, and custom shapes, such as rectangular toilets, may not fit.
  • Attachments: bidet attachments fit under both elongated and round toilet seats.
  • BB-2000 power: a grounded 120 V GFCI outlet within reach of the 4 ft power cord. For other electric models, see the power details on the product page.

Warm-water washing without electricity — if your sink supply line is within reach

The BioBidet BB-270 Duo is a non-electric bidet attachment with dual hot and cold water inputs and a temperature control knob, so the wash is warm in a Canadian January without a watt of power. It needs one thing the SlimEdge does not: a hot water line run to the toilet. Read the installation requirements below before ordering — they are the difference between loving this attachment and returning it.

Best for

  • Anyone who wants warm washing but has no electrical outlet near the toilet
  • Bathrooms where the toilet sits close to the vanity sink (short hot-water hose run)
  • Renters — the install is reversible and needs no landlord approval
  • Round and elongated toilets alike (universal fit)

Not ideal for

  • Bathrooms where the sink is far from the toilet — a long hot-water hose run across the floor is a trip hazard and looks bad; choose the cold-water SlimEdge or an electric seat instead
  • Anyone unwilling to run one hose from the sink’s shutoff valve to the toilet
  • Travel use — see the TP-70 The Palm

What the BB-270 Duo does

The Duo in the name is the point: two water inputs. Cold comes from the toilet’s supply line; hot comes from the sink’s shutoff valve. The temperature knob blends them, and the pressure dial controls spray strength.

  • Hot and cold water mixing. A control knob adjusts wash temperature from cool to warm — no tank, no heater, no plug.
  • Dual retractable nozzles. A posterior wash and a gentler feminine front wash; nozzles retract when not in use.
  • Independent pressure dial. Spray intensity is set separately from temperature.
  • Fittings. Two T-valves (7/8-inch and 3/8-inch adapters included) and braided metal hoses for both lines.
  • Slim profile. About 8 in wide by 17.3 in deep by 3.4 in high at the control panel; the seat sits nearly level.

Honest trade-offs

  • The hot line is on you. Unlike an electric seat, warm water depends on plumbing you supply access to — the attachment cannot heat water by itself.
  • Warm water is not instant. The line between sink and toilet cools between uses; the first moments of spray carry ambient-temperature water.
  • Not a heated seat. Temperature control covers the water only. Heated seat, dryer and night light are electric-seat features (see the Slim Three).
  • 12-month warranty, serviced by Toiletland.

Installation requirements — check before you order

  • Sink proximity is required. The hot-water connection point is the shutoff valve under the bathroom sink. If your toilet is more than roughly 2 m (6.5 ft) from the sink, the included 78.7-inch hot-water hose may not reach and an extra run of food-safe hose would cross the floor — in that bathroom, pick a different model.
  • Hot line runs to the toilet. Expect one braided hose from the sink’s shutoff to the attachment’s hot inlet. The cold side connects at the tank as with any attachment.
  • Toilet type: fits two-piece and most one-piece toilets, round and elongated bowls.
  • Valve sizes: two T-valves are included: 7/8-inch for the toilet tank (cold) and 3/8-inch for the sink hot-water line; check your sink’s shutoff is a standard compression fitting the hot hose can attach to.
  • Install: basic tools; the second line adds a step compared with a cold-only attachment. No plumber, no electrician, fully reversible.

How the BB-270 Duo compares

BB-270 Duo vs SlimEdge

The SlimEdge is cold-water only with a single-line install. The Duo adds temperature control at the cost of the sink-proximity requirement. Same category, same reversible install — the decision is whether your bathroom can run the hot line.

Step up to electric: Slim Three

An electric seat heats the wash water to a set temperature, with no sink hose — plus a heated seat and warm-air dryer. The usual upgrade once you know you want warm washing every time.

BB-270 Duo vs TP-70 The Palm

The TP-70 is a handheld travel bottle — warm only if you fill it warm, and one 450 mL refill at a time. The Duo is a permanent fixture with unlimited supply-line water.

Frequently asked questions

Does the BB-270 really need my bathroom sink?

Yes, for the hot side. The attachment has no heater; warm water comes from your home’s hot supply, connected at the sink’s shutoff valve. If the toilet is close to the vanity, the included hose reaches. If it is not, the honest answer is that this is the wrong bathroom for a hot/cold attachment — the cold-water SlimEdge or an electric seat fits better.

Does it need electricity or batteries?

No. It is fully mechanical. Water pressure powers the spray and the knobs control temperature and pressure.

How warm does the water get?

As warm as your home’s hot-water supply allows. There is no thermostat; the knob blends hot and cold to taste.

Will it fit my toilet?

It fits two-piece and most one-piece toilets, in both round and elongated shapes. The fit question that matters is not the bowl — it is the distance from the toilet to the sink’s shutoff valve for the hot hose.

Is installation reversible for renters?

Yes. The cold side replaces the tank supply connection with a T-valve; the hot side attaches to the sink’s existing shutoff. Everything unscrews, and the bathroom returns to its original state.

What warranty comes with it?

A 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal use, serviced by Toiletland for products bought here.
